DANI

This illustration is made by watercolor and represents scenes of the Dani people’s life, in Papua Indonesia. Emerging either from the dark green forests or from the alang alang «honai» huts, the Dani people walk slowly through the cabbage and sweet potato fields. Women support on their heads the «noken» , a kind of large woven bag to carry their baby or their vegetables, while men wear their penal case called «koteka». The whole tribe goes about its daily routine and celebrates the pig festival.
